Why
this site?
Fairly egoistic reasons, I suppose.
There is probably nothing on this site that
contributes to the worlds' knowledge. Actually,
you might be unlucky enough to be forcefed a
chunk of science in the random
text section, but apart from that, duhkha.com
is my very personal playground. But please do
come in, have a go at the swings, join me in
the sandbox, talk to me... if you don't, the
fun will have ended for me when the site went
online.
It
doesn't work in my browser?!
Sorry 'bout that. I know old browsers don't
do scrolling textboxes or other fancy stuff
- I've told many a student to avoid them for
this very reason. It's just that I like scrolling
boxes. And that this is my site.
What
is duhkha?
Duhkha, also Dukkha (Sanskrit/Pali), main subject
of the four Noble Truths of Buddhism, usually
translated as "Suffering". Not as
pessimistic as it may sound -life can be duhkha
in the sense that everything enjoyable carries
a long-term potential to cause pain. To me,
this idea is more accessible than "Life
is great because God loves me." Just a
matter of personal preference. Suum Cuique.
I'm still a Catholic. (But maybe not for very
much longer.)
Who
are you?
Female, born 1974 in KrautCentral,
now based in London, UK. Single, no baggage,
spend about half of my life online (rest sleeping,
reading, being bossed around, writing, photographing,
juggling, saxophoning, eating, pubbing).
'Nuff said.
No, no contact mobile number. Sorry.
